K. Ray I have always been fascinated by photographic images and dabbled throughout my early years in high school and then took a few courses in college as well. After college I pursued a number of careers including opening an art gallery in San Diego with emphasis on local photographer’s work. Eventually I was drawn to Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara where I received my B.S in Industrial Photography. I found this to be a challenging aspect of photography and really enjoyed chasing Haley’s comet to New Zealand and capturing stop motion images of bullets using micro flash technology! It was a sad day when I graduated and had to figure out how to put all of that new found knowledge to work making a living! Having spent a summer interning with one of the leading car photographers of that time, I was approached by him to manage his studio. From there I kept exploring all aspects of commercial advertising photography and eventually started representing photographers in 1995. I have found that my technical and production knowledge of the business has been instrumental in making me a well rounded agent who is able to offer creative solutions to complex projects.

Cindy Rowe has been an art producer in advertising agencies since 1994. She started her career at BBDO/Los Angeles, where she worked on the Apple Computer, Pioneer Electronics, Starbucks and Best Western Hotels accounts. After six years in that role, she left BBDO to become Manager of Art Production at Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles in 2000, overseeing the department while working on many exciting Toyota projects. A popular reviewer, she brings her unique perspective to her portfolio reviews.

John Sharpe President,  Sharpe + Associates, Inc. Born and raised in New Mexico, Sharpe has spent the majority of his adult life in Los Angeles and all of it in the advertising business. He started his repping agency 23 years ago after working as an ad agency account executive at several shops in TX and CA, and remains a passionate student of the business today.  His photographers are known primarily for their conceptual work and are frequently recognized in industry award shows for their imagery.   Currently, his roster includes  Zachary Scott, Steven Lippman, Hugh Kretschmer, Eva Kolenko, Jamey Stillings, Comrade, Adam Levey, Anthony Redpath and Morgan Silk, along with CG illustrator, Bryan Christie.

Andrea Stern Founded Stern Rep in 1995 in Venice California after attending Brooks Institute.  SternRep is entirely managed, marketed and driven by Andrea.  She has kept her company small so she can be personally involved in every step of the process of each job for each photographer she reps.  SternRep has offices in LA and New York.  Andrea draws on  her diverse background in commercial production, shooting the stills on film sets, fundraising, and training and managing boxers to inspire her work in representing photographers.   Andrea's Philosophy is to constantly progress, whether through fostering great relationships with great people, promoting growth with her stylized photographer's, networking like crazy or simply knowing where the best hamburger in LA is.  Recent Clients include:  Apple, Baja Fresh, Burger King, Chevy, Nissan, Toyota, Microsoft, Sony Playstation, Samsung, Pioneer, JBL, McDonald's, Acura, Honda,VW, Arby's, Dominos,UPS Store, Intel Toshiba, Sony, Vaio, Dell, Harley Davidson, HTC, Nestle, Best Buy, Coke, Bacardi, Becks, Shell, Good Life Dog Food, Pinkbery, and The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Damon Webster is a hybrid producer.  He handles interactive, experiential, print and traditional broadcast projects. The past 5 years have brought in a fresh element of social media, broadband, and online content production. He’s constantly exploring all of the new ways we can get a message across, and uses a self created website, Photoinduced.com, as the petri dish to try the new methods out, in a real setting. The global success of the site has allowed him to continue the exploration. Formerly head of TV at Saatchi & Saatchi, he was part of the teams to win the agency it’s biggest awards. He is looking at the ways forward, using every skill learned along the way, to influence and execute a new creative producer methodlogy. Webster began his career in New York City as an assistant photographer, and has gone on to shoot numerous magazine assignments, which he continues to do to this day.

TESTIMONIALS - Maria Piscopo’s Consultations
From: Debbie Vyskocil, photographer
“I have been working on and off with Maria for about 9 years. She is a great help with every aspect of my marketing and sales. Many times she has gone through photographs with me to help me set up a new portfolio; she has reviewed my marketing plans, and helps me to evaluate new sales and marketing endeavors. She has spoken to so many others in the business that buy what I sell, that I feel her opinion is usually right on target. Maria is very easy to talk with and explains ideas and points in different ways until you totally get her message. I have brought Maria into different speaking engagements because I truly feel that she has her finger on the marketing end of this business. “

From: Mark Gerber, photographer
“The consultation was great for me. I spent most of yesterday re-writing my notes and came up with nearly three pages of 12 point, single space, tons of really good information. I'm especially looking forward to getting started on the first steps we outlined together and finally feel like I'll be getting a handle on my future. Maria’s book should arrive early next week and I feel pretty darn good about the whole thing.”

From: Andy Batt, photographer
"Maria Piscopo is one of the best photo marketing consultants in the business. Her years of expertise as a teacher, photo rep and consultant give her the insight and power to move you and your business forward, to where you want to succeed. I strongly endorse Maria."
-----------------
From Djanka at Edward Gajdel, Photography
“I appreciated your portfolio review at CAPIC meeting. You had an engaging, powerful and objective manner in addressing and sharing the fundamental principles to enable the junior, intermediate and established photographer to focus on the possibilities that exist.  Further you provided the tools for them to navigate a successful path in realizing their success. You also instilled the fact that photographers can learn that they don't need to compromise their art nor their business in order to realize their dreams.”
